The satisfaction of closing a sale and helping people has always driven me to succeed. I have been constantly reminded of this notion ever since I began my adventure in the corporate environment of telecommunications. I spent 25 years selling state-of-the-art technologies for high-profile companies including Wang Laboratories, Cable & Wireless and AT&T. The superstar executives that I’ve worked with have helped shape who I am as a sales manager and a negotiator. No deal was left unfinished, and no customer left unsatisfied. Even under immense pressure and demanding conditions, I have always been up to the challenge.
Perhaps for these reasons I’ve undertaken projects in my personal life that to some may seem outrageous or daunting, from renovating an 8,000 square foot historic home on 57 acres in Charlottesville, Virginia and transforming it into an upscale B&B, to packing my bags and moving to Mexico. It’s never been a fear of the unknown. On the contrary; I find new endeavors exciting! The city of Tulum happened to be the perfect fit for my family for a more laid back lifestyle in a tropical paradise. We’ve all made ourselves at home, and I can’t wait for what’s next both personally and professionally in helping my real estate clients find their piece of the dream in Tulum, Mexico.
In addition to high tech corporate sales and management, Joanne’s background includes years of real estate investments and licensure in the State of Georgia. She is an Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) and a continuing member of the Distinguished Sales Society (DSS) of Savannah. She continues to support local artists within her community.

I attended the University of Massachusetts and Bentley University where I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Accounting. My career, for 30 years as a CPA, was furnishing tax and audit services for individuals and their companies. I now provide our clients with a complimentary review of their foreign tax issues. Dry as the subject is to some, discussing creative tax reduction strategies fuels my passion for this business.
Some of these are:
- Offshore business structures
- Discretionary trusts
- International business corporations
- Private interest foundations
- Mexican corporations
- 501 (c) (3) charitable organizations
- The foreign income exclusion
- Meal and travel deductions
- The housing exclusion
- Foreign tax credits

I first traveled to Tulum 10 years ago when the beach road was barely paved with only a handful of hotels and restaurants. I would vacation in Tulum every January and watched my beloved little town grow up at an incredible rate over the past few years. In early 2018, I decided to permanently call Tulum home leaving behind the busy corporate office life in NYC and Los Angeles to settle amongst the palm trees of Tulum. I haven’t looked back since. Working with VPs and CMOs of fortune 500 companies in the United States I treat my business very professionally and love helping my clients relocate to Tulum to purchase their dream home. In my free time, I partake in many of the local organizations Tulum has to offer such as plastic reduction, beach clean ups and recycling groups.
